The Role

The core function of Marketing Research is to build the intelligence and foresight that feeds the marketing strategy. The role is responsible for delivering human truths and behavioral understanding through foundational learning and by solving knowledge gaps across all functions. The role is responsible to leverage on internal data and build connections with other sources of knowledge. This person will collaborate in developing the research program, selecting the right partners and curating the outcome to impact the organization and inform a better decision making.

The role serves as a critical link between marketing and leadership, helping to provide insights that can shape our roadmap and marketing direction, as well as helping to ensure that everyone knows who our customers are from a user, influencer and retail partnerships side. The ability to synthesize and communicate insights to the team is paramount.

What You’ll Do - Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end qualitative, quantitative and data analytics market research initiatives

  • Uncover customer insights and market trends that guide 21buttons integrated marketing strategy

  • Be on top of latest media trend & lifestyle among target group, and share with relevant teams

  • Own the design and execution of all concept testing, brand tracking, and audience segmentation research

  • Represent the voice of marketing internally with Product and Engineering,

  • Create a roadmap for research across 21buttons, establishing priorities based on business objectives and the ability to take action on insights

  • Synthesize and communicate research findings with actionable recommendations to inform business decisions

  • Adapt and innovate research practices to meet team needs under the tight timeframes of a rapidly growing company

A person in this role should be comfortable in an "all hands on deck" environment and love solving problems and be able to thrive in a startup culture where execution is highly valued. We are always moving at a very fast pace to make sure that users are able to experience the magic of 21Buttons.


  • 7 Minimum Years of Experience with Research, Insights and analytics (running quantitative and qualitative research for new product development, brand positioning, message development and creative optimization)

  • Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams (brand, marketing, product, UX, tech, etc.) as well as external ad and research agencies    

  • Ability to execute quantitative research from questionnaire design, fielding, analytics, and reporting but also able to pull together higher-level critical thinking

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills; experience presenting to executive leaders and key stakeholders

  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail

  • Nice to have: Ability to extract data from a database (e.g. using SQL) to run behavioral analysis along with survey data, building dashboards and/or experience closely collaborating with teams who do so
